Description
Djurs Sommerland in Djursland near Aarhus in Denmark offers many attractions for the whole family, Denmark's best and largest roller coasters and a large aqua park.
The award-winning park is divided into nine different themed areas: Piratland, Bondegårdsland, Mexicoland, Vikingeland, Westernland, Vandland, Sommerland, Wild Asia and Dinosaurland, which opened in 2022. From Denmark's fastest roller coasters to child-friendly rides and playgrounds, there's something for every age. For some of the over 60 rides in the aqua park, don't forget to bring your swimwear! If you prefer to leave your change of clothes in the car or need to quickly drive to the nearest town, you can leave the park as you please and come back in.
The park also has a lot to offer culinary-wise: some themed areas have appropriate snacks for in between, and classics like burgers, pizza and ice cream are also available. Those who prefer to bring their own food can enjoy their packed lunch comfortably in the park and even use a grill station for brought or online pre-ordered grilling items.
For those who find a day trip to Djurs Sommerland isn't enough, season tickets are also available, or in combination with day tickets you can book a campsite, an apartment, a hotel, a bed & breakfast or a cabin.
The park is open from May to mid-October, but exact opening hours should be checked before visiting.
How to get there
The Djurs Sommerland amusement park is located in northeastern Denmark near Aarhus.
You drive via the E45 past Kolding and Vejle towards Horsens and Skanderborg. Then you take Route 15 towards Randersvej until you can follow the signs to Djurs Sommerland. There you can park for free in the large associated parking lot during your visit.
