Givskud Zoo in Denmark is only 20 kilometres away from Legoland. The park is home to a wide variety of animals, including giraffes, lions, zebras, bison, emus, parrots, llamas, and camels. Wildlife can be explored in different ways: by car, on foot or by safari bus.

Givskud Zoo offers three large parking lots that serve as the starting point for walking safaris. The car parks are strategically placed on the grounds and allow visitors access to the various animal enclosures. The area around the first car park, P1, is home to animals from South America such as spectacled bears, spider monkeys, penguins and wolves. Among the animals in Car Park 2 are hippos, monkeys, lemurs, gorillas, rhinos, wildebeests, antelopes, and baobab trees. The P3 car park offers another highlight with its lions. In addition to the tropical house, the dinosaur park path is also located there. More than 50 life-size dinosaurs, up to 40 metres high, can be found here. The zoo also has a safari shop and three restaurants.

The walking safari is about six kilometres. Drivers can also get out of the car park at any time and look around the walking trails or watch the animals. For children, there is a playground in the zoo as well as the possibility to wash gold in the
Tepee Camp. In addition, children can enjoy stick bread at the campfire. Petting goats is an integral part of the Givskud zoo.

During the safari bus ride, visitors can also learn interesting facts about the animals in the park. Besides the regular entrance fee, you can join the keepers for a 90-minute guided tour called "Wake up Zoo" early in the morning. Givskud Zoo also offers VIP safaris with a guide.

You can stay at the Givskud Zoo Hostel or at the African tent camp "Sleep on the Savannah" if you want to stay longer.
