Description

Plopsaland De Panne is located on the Belgian North Sea coast in the province of West Flanders and is one of the country’s most popular theme parks. With more than 70 lovingly designed attractions for all age groups, the park delights both families and roller coaster enthusiasts.
Adventures for the whole Family
Whether it’s Maja’s Flower Tower, the "Flying Bicycle" or the Bee Coaster – everything here is colorful, playful, and perfectly tailored to kids. Beloved characters like Wickie, Heidi, Tabaluga, Bumba, and many more from the Studio 100 universe bring familiar faces and fun-filled moments to life throughout the park.
Water lovers will enjoy the Wickie Zone, packed with log flume rides, playgrounds, and slides. New this year is Wickie’s Whirlwind, a 12-meter-high swinging bench. Other favorites like the Princess Lillifee boat, Dino Splash, K3 Roller Skater, and Heidi’s Treehouse light up children's eyes. Interactive rides such as Het Bos van Plop and the boat ride De Vliegende Fietsen (The Flying Bicycles) encourage little adventurers to get hands-on. For the youngest visitors, there are carousels and soft play zones to explore.
Roller Coaster Fever Guaranteed
Thrill-seekers will find their paradise at the back of the park. The SuperSplash water ride lifts visitors 30 meters vertically before launching them into a refreshing plunge at up to 70 km/h. Even more intense is The Ride to Happiness by Tomorrowland – Europe’s first Xtreme Spinning Coaster. Spinning cars, multiple launch sections, inversions, and high speeds make this one of the most spectacular rollercoasters in Europe – a must for adrenaline junkies.
Shows, Themed Hotels & Water Park Fun
Beyond its rides, Plopsaland De Panne also offers a vibrant lineup of live shows, seasonal events, and the neighboring Plopsa Hotel, complete with themed rooms and an in-house restaurant. Can’t get enough? Head next door to Plopsaqua De Panne, a tropical water park featuring a wave pool, slides, a water fortress, and splash zones for little ones.
Historical Information

The origins of today’s Plopsaland De Panne date back to 1935, when honey producer Alberic-Joseph Florizoone founded the park as "Meli Park" – a charming destination with a strong focus on bees and beekeeping. The bee theme shaped the park for decades and is still visible today through Meli products sold in several park shops.
Over time, Meli Park evolved into an amusement park with rides, but began to lose popularity during the 1990s. In 1999, the park was sold to Studio 100 and VMMa.
Following an extensive transformation, the park reopened in April 2000 as Plopsaland, now centered around beloved Studio 100 characters like Kabouter Plop, Samson & Gert, and Big & Betsy. Since 2005, the park has been fully owned by Studio 100 and has seen continuous expansion ever since.
How to get there
Plopsaland De Panne is located in the far west of Belgium, right on the North Sea coast near the French border. The amusement park sits in the municipality of De Panne in the province of West Flanders, just a few kilometers from the popular seaside resort of Koksijde. It’s easy to reach by both car and public transportation.
By Car
If you’re arriving by car, follow the E40 toward Veurne and take the exit for De Panne/Adinkerke. From the highway, it’s only a few more minutes to the park, which is well signposted from the exit. A large, paid parking lot is located right at the main entrance.
By Public Transportation
Belgium’s national railway, SNCB, offers regular service to Adinkerke Station, which is just about 500 meters from the park. From there, it’s a short and easy walk to the entrance. Alternatively, the Kusttram (Coastal Tram) runs along the entire Belgian coastline and stops right at the park at the “Plopsaland” station.
