Exhibition

Photography is art aswell as a design of reality. Following that slogan the photography museum in Winterthur has been ensuring the exhibit of influential photography for over 20 years now.

The gallery shows current photography by artists like Lewis Baltz, William Eggleston, Nan Goldin, Andreas Gursky, Roni Horn and Boris Mikhailov as well as timeless masters of photography like Karl Blossfeldt, Bill Brandt, Dorothea Lange, Lisette Model, Albert Renger-Platzsch, August Sander, Charles Sheeler, Edward Weston, Weegee and others.

Another key subject of the museum is the historico-cultural and sociological angle of photography. Therefore the museum holds exhibitions that show pictures of the police force, the industry and medicine.

Associated to those topics the museum publishes on a regular basis and organises topic related events.
