Swimming Lake
Located between the cities of Leipzig and Markranstädt is the popular recreational area of Lake Kulkwitz. Open for swimming since the 1970s, this 32-meter-deep lake is considered a true gem, especially among scuba divers. An underwater park with visibility of over ten meters makes Lake Kulkwitz one of the most popular diving spots in Central Germany.
Those who prefer to relax on the beach can choose from the Miltitz and Göhrenz beach sections, as well as the Markranstädt beach resort. The Lausen beach is perfect for naturists, as clothing-optional swimming is expressly permitted here. Surfing, sailing, and fishing enthusiasts will also find Lake Kulkwitz to be the perfect spot. Additionally, visitors can enjoy wakeboarding, water skiing, stand-up paddleboarding, rowing, and pedal boating.
