About Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau

The city of Boston is considered to be one of the cultural hotspots of the USA and is the biggest city in the whole of New England at the same time. Famous institutes such as the Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) are also located in the urban area of Boston, the capital of Massachusetts.

When in Boston, make sure to check out the cultural and historical attractions of one of the oldest cities in the USA. Since the city played a very important role in the American War for Independence there are many historical places and museums as well as major political players such as the Boston Tea Party to be found here.

Moreover, Boston is a place where many different cultures connect. For example, many Irish settlers came to the city and maintained much of their culture. Not only is the Boston Basketball team therefore named “The Celtics”, but the city is also all about the shamrock on the Irish holiday Saint Patrick's Day.
