Notes & discounts

The tariffs for the High Alpine Road refer to the toll fee, which you have to pay on either the Austrian or Italian side. The return journey is valid throughout the season and does not have to be made on the same day.

The following prices apply:

One-way journey by car: 19 euros
Return journey: 26 euros

One-way journey by motorbike: 17 euros
Return journey: 23 euros

Return journey with other vehicles (motorhomes over 3.5 tonnes, lorries, etc.): 30 euros

Season ticket for car or motorbike: 85 euros

Buses are charged per adult (€6) or child (€4).

The above opening times apply from the beginning of June to the end of October (the exact date depends on the weather). Outside this period, the High Alpine Road is closed due to too much snow.

Cyclists are travelling at their own risk! Functioning bicycle lights are mandatory.

Special regulations apply on the Italian side due to the steep and narrow road conditions and the bridges: Buses over 10 metres in length and lorries over 8 tonnes are prohibited there. This also applies to trailers over 4.50 metres in length.
