Whether you're visiting with family, love sporty activities, or simply seek relaxation – thanks to spacious beach sections and numerous access points from town, there's always plenty of room for carefree enjoyment by the sea.
Diverse Beach Sections
The coastline between Binz and Prora offers plenty of variety: Sports enthusiasts will find beach volleyball, surfing, and kite surfing options around Mukran. FKK (nudist) and dog-friendly sections are also available, offering secluded spots for undisturbed bathing. Cultural events and small-scale festivals provide extra summer entertainment near Beach Access 7.
Families especially appreciate the gently sloping entrances into the water and the play areas at the family beach. From here, it's easy to reach the promenade, the Binz pier, and the historic Prora building complex.
Along the beach of Binz Bay, you'll also find several beach bars and restaurants that are perfect for a scenic culinary break. Particularly popular is Strandbar 28 at the Binz pier, offering cold drinks and snacks. Other highlights include Café Strandläufer with fresh fish dishes and Mariandl am Meer, which brings Bavarian charm to the Baltic Sea coast.
Things to do
The beach of Binz Bay offers not only relaxation but also a wide variety of sports and leisure activities. You’ll find beach volleyball courts at several points along the shore, and in the summer months, you can join in on beach aerobics or fitness sessions.
Water sports enthusiasts are also well catered for: At different beach sections, you can rent pedal boats or try your hand at windsurfing, sailing, and water skiing. A dedicated kitesurfing spot is available at Beach Access 67. Both beginners and advanced visitors can take part in courses for surfing, catamaran sailing, or kayaking. For those looking for something more tranquil, several self-rental stations for stand-up paddling are available along the beach.

How to get there
Binz Bay is located on the eastern coast of Rügen and is easily accessible by car via the B196 and L29 highways. The town of Binz has a well-organized parking guidance system with several central parking lots. If you’re starting from Prora, you’ll also find parking options close to the beach.
Traveling by train is just as convenient: The Ostseebad Binz station is regularly served by both regional and long-distance trains. Prora also has its own station, which is especially practical for visitors carrying luggage or beach gear. From both stations, the beach is just a short walk away. Additionally, the RE27 regional rail line connects Sassnitz, Prora, and Binz directly along the coast.
