Beach

The natural beach of Nienhagen lies along the cliffs between Warnemünde and Heiligendamm. Nestled between the Baltic Sea and the “Ghost Forest,” it offers peace, fine sand, and a truly unique atmosphere.
Stretching between steep cliffs and coastal woodland, Nienhagen's beach is a quiet stretch of coast with natural charm. About four kilometers long, it features both fine sandy bathing areas and untouched sections. The main beach is located below the cliffs and can be reached via a staircase or a barrier-free serpentine path with panoramic views. The shoreline gently slopes into the water, making it especially ideal for families with children.
During the summer months, part of the beach is supervised by lifeguards. Additionally, a Wi-Fi hotspot is available at the main beach. If you’d like, you can rent a beach chair on-site – the rental station is located directly on the promenade.
To ensure all visitors feel comfortable, the beach at Nienhagen is divided into clearly designated zones: textile and nudist (FKK) areas are well marked. About 700 meters west of the promenade, behind the Ghost Forest, you'll find a designated dog beach. To the east, the beach transitions into more natural coastal stretches with pebbles, stones, and boulders.

The Ghost Forest
The Ghost Forest, a coastal woodland spanning around 180 hectares, lies directly adjacent to Nienhagen’s beach.
