Nearby, the “Karower Meiler” exhibition center provides information about the flora and fauna of the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide Nature Park.

How to get there
The lake is located in the western part of the Mecklenburg Lake District, roughly halfway between Berlin and Hamburg, making it easily accessible by car or train.
Those arriving by car are best off taking the A19 motorway (exit Malchow) or the B191, which leads directly to the town of Plau am See. Parking is available on-site. Train travelers can reach the lake via Plau am See station or alternatively via Malchow, followed by a short bus ride. Cyclists also benefit from a well-developed network of trails surrounding the lake.
