At the KLIMA ARENA in Sinsheim, everything revolves around the major topic of our time: climate change - presented in an understandable, vivid and interactive way. On around 1,400 square meters of indoor space and 13,000 square meters of outdoor area, visitors can discover how our everyday lives affect the climate and what we can do to make them more sustainable.
The exhibition areas
In the "Fundamentals of climate change" exhibition, visitors learn in a vivid way what climate actually is, how it works – and how our actions influence it. In the "Lifestyle & Consumption" section, visitors can playfully test their own carbon footprint in the climate supermarket and the recyclable material bingo shows how much potential there is in everyday products. The "Living & Energy" section shows how climate-friendly heating, efficient lighting and small everyday steps can make a big difference.
The "Mobility" section is all about transportation and emissions. Interactive simulation games invite visitors to cleverly combine alternative means of transport or find out about new drive technologies. At many stations, visitors can try out, tinker and test – making even complex science easy to understand.
Exciting discoveries also await outside: The theme park brings habitats such as moorland, heathland and rough pastures to life. On the climate farm, in the soil pavilion or along the orchard meadow, it becomes clear how closely agriculture, soils and ecosystems are linked to climate change.
Changing special exhibitions and a varied program of events ensure that a second visit is also worthwhile. For an enjoyable break in between, the restaurant offers regional cuisine and homemade cakes.
KLIMA ARENA as a place of education
The KLIMA ARENA is more than just a museum – it is also an extracurricular place of learning. School classes and daycare centers can playfully discover the connections between everyday life and the environment. Teachers benefit from free advance visits and training courses. How to get there
The KLIMA ARENA is located in Sinsheim in the Kraichgau region, near the Technik Museum Sinsheim. The KLIMA ARENA is easy to reach both by car and by public transport.
It is easy to get here by car via the A6 (exit Sinsheim-Süd). There are numerous parking spaces right next to the KLIMA ARENA – from here you can reach the entrance in just a few minutes.
Getting here is also easy by public transport: Sinsheim (Elsenz) train station is regularly served by regional trains from Heidelberg, Heilbronn or Mannheim. From there, you can reach the KLIMA ARENA in around 15 minutes on foot or by city bus.
