The new Neckarline in Rottweil is a 606-metre suspension bridge in the Northern Black Forest, spanning the Neckar Valley at a height of around 60 metres.

The structure weighs a total of 444 tonnes and is supported by a 60-metre pylon. The walkway consists of 172 individual deck elements, each 3.50 metres long. The bridge is part of the Eberhardt Group, which also operates the Wildline in Bad Wildbad and the Blackforestline in Todtnau, and is the longest of the three. For safety reasons, the bridge closes at wind speeds of 6 Beaufort or above.

A sweeping shape with ever-changing perspectives

What sets the Neckarline apart is its distinctive S-shaped curve: the walkway rises towards the middle before gently descending towards the historic town wall of Rottweil. Since you can't see the far end when you first step onto the bridge, new views of the Neckar Valley and the surrounding Black Forest landscape reveal themselves as you cross. On a clear day, the panorama stretches all the way to the Alps. The bridge is barrier-free and accessible with pushchairs and wheelchairs.

Rottweil and the TK Elevator Test Tower

Rottweil is considered the oldest town in the state of Baden-Württemberg, adding a rich cultural backdrop to any visit. Right next to the Neckarline stands the TK Elevator Test Tower, whose observation platform also offers panoramic views reaching as far as the Alps on a clear day.
