Entdeckerwelt Bad Urach (children's adventure center)

At "Entdeckerwelt Bad Urach", everyone can become a little explorer, detective or nature hero. Right in the heart of the town, the interactive children's adventure center invites you to go on exciting missions, solve puzzles and get to know the fascinating nature of the Swabian Alb through play.

At "Entdeckerwelt Bad Urach", children between the ages of seven and 13 can experience nature, the environment and history in an interactive way. The focus is on a modern exhibition in which topics such as water consumption, waste avoidance, regional agriculture and raw materials are explained in a child-friendly way. Audio stations, search games, short films and digital elements are used to convey complex content in a playful and vivid way.

The discovery tours through the city and nature

The three interactive discovery tours through the city and nature are a particular highlight. Equipped with a rental tablet and an explorer bag, the children set off on their adventure with a clear mission. On the way, they have to track down QR codes, collect clues and solve puzzles. Each tour is embedded in an exciting story that encourages children to think and move.

The three tours:

• "Save Konrad's father from the gallows" – a medieval adventure
• "Emilie's mysterious disappearance" – searching for clues in the town
• "Agent for clean drinking water" – a crime story with a forest hike
   

The tablets can be borrowed from the information desk for a small fee. Depending on the tour, the experience lasts around 60 to 90 minutes.

The "Entdeckerwelt" offers an educational program for school classes, groups or children's birthday parties. The facility is also an official information point for the Swabian Alb UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and the UNESCO Global Geopark and has been proven to convey the topics of ecology and regionality in an age-appropriate way.

The "Entdeckerwelt" is centrally located in the town center of Bad Urach, just a few minutes' walk from the market square. It is easily accessible both by car and by public transport thanks to its good connections.

Drivers follow the B465 to the town center. You can park in the multi-storey parking lot at the castle (P5) or in the "Marktplatz" parking lot, for example. If you are traveling by train, get off at Bad Urach station and reach the "Entdeckerwelt" on foot in around ten minutes. Alternatively, take bus no. 108 to the "Marktplatz" stop, which is located directly nearby.
