Description
In the middle of the Bavarian Forest, a new highlight provides thrills in all weathers: the Silberberg Coaster in Bodenmais is one of the most modern all-weather toboggan runs in Europe and brings the feeling of a rollercoaster ride right into the great outdoors.
The Silberberg has been a popular excursion destination for years - now the leisure offer is getting a spectacular upgrade. The new Alpine Coaster 2.0 is the third model of its kind in the whole of Germany. On a 750-metre-long descent, you hurtle down the rails into the valley at up to 40 km/h, past rocks, forests and panoramic views. The run is open all year round, whether in summer sunshine or snow flurries. Two traffic circles, a well-planned route and the quiet gliding of the toboggans offer a successful mix of adrenaline and scenic experience.
A special extra: the construction of the run was carried out in a particularly environmentally friendly way - not a single healthy tree had to be removed. An integrated photo booth provides the perfect souvenir photo in front of the impressive Bodenmais panorama.
How to get there
The Silberberg Coaster is located directly on the Silberberg adventure mountain on the outskirts of Bodenmais in the Bavarian Forest. You can reach Bodenmais by car via the A92 (Deggendorf exit) or the A3 (Hengersberg exit). From there, follow the B11 towards Regen and continue to Bodenmais. Once there, the Silberberg is well signposted. There is a paid parking lot directly at the valley station, from where you can reach the new toboggan run in just a few steps.
The coaster is also easily accessible by public transport: From Plattling, take the Waldbahn train via Zwiesel to Bodenmais station. From there, a short walk (approx. 15-20 minutes) takes you up to the valley station on the Silberberg. Alternatively, there is also a bus service that stops directly at the parking lot.
