Route description
The easy and familiy friendly walk goes to a beautiful alp region at the foot of the mountain "Faulkogel".
You start at the junction Marbachalm in Flachauwinkl. From there you follow the way nr. 730 and hike until the road to the Schüttbachalm. After about 1 km a rise of the street follows and you go on to the "Vordere Marbachalm". You can hike a little further to the "Hintere Marbachalm" for that you only go straight on. Retourn on the same way
Where to eat

On the small hiking tour you can have some refreshments at the two huts.
After about 1.5 km you come to the Prechtlhütte (Vordere Marbachalm). The Prechtlhütte is the hut of the year 2012. There you get self-made products like cakes and bread with cheese.
At the end of the tour (about 1 hour to go) you have again the possiblity to get refreshments at the Ennslehenhütte (Hintere Marbachalm).
Interesting facts
- You're traveling a distance of 3 km on this easy trail. The hike is therefore not too long. Average length of all hikes in Salzburg is 15 km.
- You're facing an uphill climb of 178 vertical meters on this hike. The track is therefore relatively flat. The hike takes you to an elevation of 1,262 m.
- The hike is one of the family friendly trails in the region. The hike is also perfect if the kid’s wanna bring their dog on the trip. (See all dog friendly hikes in Salzburg.)
- You shouldn’t forget to bring your hiking boots. There are some sections on the trail where sturdy footwear is required. If you get hungry along the way, there are places to rest and get food. Nevertheless it’s recommended to also have enough water and food in your backpack when hiking or biking.

Highlights of the tour
The river Marbach invites you on hot days for a cool down. Especially for the little hikers is the small stream a highlight. Building a dam and swashing to the highest level.
Variations
From the "Hintere Marchbachalmen" you can hike to the Ursprungalm (not opend) and to the Gasthofplateau with the Neukarsee (2065m), the Faulkogel (2654m) and the Mosermandl (2680m).
Equipment
For this easy tour is no special equipment necessary you can take your normal sport shoes. It is even suitable for a buggy.
Getting here
by car
You can reach Flachau easily via the A10 Tauern motorway (exit 66). From Flachau along the "Flachauwinklstraße" to the parking space at Marbachtal.
by public transport
With the “Sportwelt-Bus” you get to the bus station "Flachauwinkl Marbachalm"
