Description

Home to Germany’s longest alpine coaster, the Hasenhorn Coaster in Todtnau is set in the Southern Black Forest, close to the Swiss border.
The adventure begins with a scenic ride on a modern two-seater chairlift, which takes you comfortably to the start of the track. Along the way, you’ll already catch glimpses of the 2.9-kilometre course winding its way down the mountainside. The ride features steep bends, rolling waves and three spirals, while you stay in full control of your speed throughout the descent. Children aged three and up (minimum height 95 cm) can ride with an adult, while those aged eight or older and at least 1.40 metres tall are allowed to ride on their own.
A visit to the coaster can easily be combined with other attractions on the mountain. Stop by the mountain inn for a meal or take a short walk to the Hasenhorn Tower, where panoramic views stretch across the surrounding Black Forest peaks. Families can also follow the four-kilometre Magic Trail, an interactive hiking route that brings the local Todtnau fairy tale to life through a series of themed stations.
Back in the valley, the kiosk is a great place to grab a snack before continuing your day. The surrounding area offers plenty more to explore, including a hike to the impressive Todtnau Waterfall or one of the many mountain biking trails that criss-cross the region.
The Hasenhorn remains a popular destination in winter as well. While the alpine coaster closes during poor weather conditions, the mountain is home to a 3.5-kilometre sledging run, where you can race downhill on your own sled or rent one on site.
