Description
The longest summer toboggan run in Germany is located in Todtnau in the southern Black Forest on the Swiss border!
The starting point of the toboggan run is comfortably reached by a modern double chairlift – and during the ride you can already take a look at the 2.9 kilometer long track, which has a lot in store for young and old passengers: Steep curves, numerous waves and three traffic circles make for an exciting ride, but of course you determine the speed yourself. Children from the age of three and a height of 95 centimeters may ride with an accompanying person, and from the age of eight and a height of 1.40 meters they may even ride alone.
The excursion to the toboggan run can be combined with a visit to the mountain inn or a short detour to the Hasenhorn tower, from where you can enjoy the spectacular view of the surrounding peaks. Another highlight is the children's hike of a good four kilometers along the Magic Trail, where the whole family explores the settings of the Todtnau fairy tale.
After the ride, you can treat yourself to a snack at the kiosk in the valley and also go on many other exciting excursions in the region, such as a hike to the Todtnau waterfall in the mountains, or a round on the mountain bike on the countless routes in the area.
By the way, even in winter you don't have to miss out on tobogganing fun at the Hasenhorn, because although the summer toboggan run is closed in bad weather conditions, you can whiz down the mountain in the snow on the 3.5-kilometer-long winter sled run - whether with a sled rented on site, or your own.
How to get there
By car:
By car, it is best to take the A5 direction of Karlsruhe-Basel to the Freiburg-Mitte exit, in Todtnau in the direction of Feldberg and to the signposted parking spaces in Brandenbergstraße.
From the A81 direction of Stuttgart-Bodensee, you drive to the freeway junction Bad Dürrheim, Titisee, Feldberg and in Todtnau to the signposted parking spaces in Brandenbergstraße.
By public transport:
By train you can get to Freiburg, Kirchzarten, Zell or Titisee and from there take the bus or the SBG directly to Todtnau.
