Route description
Just 200 years ago, wolves and bears roamed the surrounding woods. The last wolf was reportedly caught in 1822 in the fourmetre- deep wolf pit.Route: Nova Levante/Welschnofen, church square – path n. 5 – Lengeria – wolf pit – path n. 1 – Malga Schillerhof (1555 m) – path n. 4A – Malga Hagner – 4B – Malga Jocherhof – path n. 15A – Hotel Rosengarten – path n. 15 – path n. 5 – Nova Levante, church square.

Interesting facts
- You're traveling a distance of 5 miles on this moderate trail. The hike is therefore not too long. Average length of all hikes in South Tyrol is 7 miles.
- You're facing an uphill climb of 168 vertical meters on this hike. The track is therefore relatively flat. The highest point of the track is 5203 ft above sea level.

- Hiking boots are not required, but the hike might be more enjoyable with sturdy footwear (especially in wet conditions). If you get hungry along the way, there are places to rest and get food. Nevertheless it’s recommended to also have enough water and food in your backpack when hiking or biking.

Getting here
Take highway's exit “Bolzano Nord/Eggental”, turn right direction Bolzano/Bozen, after about 0,5 km on roundabout keep left and head towards Val d’Ega (SS 241). Keep driving up to Ponte Nova. At Ponte Nova’s crossroads, turn to the left and continue to Nova Levante (about 20 min. from highway toll booth).
