Route description
A somewhat arduous, but rewarding forest hike with lots of panoramic views.Route: Ega/Eggen (1120m), village square – trail n. 7A – Grotthof farm – trail S – Malga Häusler Sam (3h). Return: trail n. 8 to Bewallerhof farm – trail n. 8B – Städtl path n. 10 to Ega.

- You're facing an uphill climb of 530 vertical meters on this hike. The highest point of the track is 5121 ft above sea level.

- Hiking boots are not required, but the hike might be more enjoyable with sturdy footwear (especially in wet conditions). If you get hungry along the way, there are places to rest and get food. Nevertheless it’s recommended to also have enough water and food in your backpack when hiking or biking.
Getting here
Take highway's exit “Bolzano Nord/Eggental”, turn right direction Bolzano/Bozen, after about 0,5 km on roundabout keep left and head towards Val d’Ega (SS 241). Keep driving up to Ponte Nova. At Ponte Nova’s crossroads, turn to the right and continue to Ega/Eggen (about 25 min. from highway toll booth).
