Germany - A Diverse Holiday Destination

North to south and east to west, numerous attractions such as historical buildings, natural beauty, and events, draw visitors to Germany. The capital Berlin is one of the cultural hotspots of the country. Once divided by the Berlin Wall, it now boasts sights such as Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag building, or the museum island. Hamburg, too, with its mix of tradition and modernism, or Heidelberg's old town are very popular.

Among the most famous landmarks you can find UNESCO World Heritage site Kölner Dom, Neuschwanstein castle, Frauenkirche in Dresden and Munich, Partnach Gorge in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, or Loreley at the Rhine. Also worth a visit: the Alps, with Germany's highest mountain Zugspitze, impressive riverlands of Rhine, Main, and Danube as well as Franconian and Saxon Switzerland. Europapark in Rust is another highlight. The biggest amusement park in the country promises fun and action for the young and the old.

Events such as Munich's Oktoberfest or the Christmas market in Nuremberg complete the holiday offer.
